Jakson Green and Blueleaf Energy have announced the financial closure of their 840 MWp solar project in Bikaner, Rajasthan, marking a significant milestone in their one GWp solar portfolio.
The portfolio comprises two ground-mounted solar plants—280 MWp and 560 MWp, jointly owned by Jakson Green and Blueleaf Energy through Jakson. The funding, secured with Axis Bank, completes the financing for the entire portfolio. Both projects have 25-year power purchase agreements (PPAs) with the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) and NHPC, respectively, and are set to enter construction. This development complements the ongoing 140 MWp Bhawad Solar Project, slated for commissioning later this year.
Executives from both companies highlighted this as a critical step in advancing India’s renewable energy transition and their shared goal of adding over five GW of clean energy capacity by 2030. The Bikaner projects alone will generate sufficient electricity to power over 1.5 million households annually.
