John Cockerill India (JCIL) has won a contract from Godawari Power and Ispat (GPIL), which is expanding its operations by setting up a two MTPA greenfield steel plant featuring a cutting-edge 6-Hi reversible cold rolling mill (CRM).
GPIL has awarded the contract to JCIL for engineering, design, manufacture, supply, and supervision of erection and commissioning of the mill at Tilda in Raipur. The new CRM, with a capacity of 3,00,000 tonne annually, will process strip widths up to 1,500 mm and thicknesses from 2.0 mm to 0.15 mm, operating at speeds up to 1,400 mpm. Equipped with advanced rolling technology and a mill management system, the facility aims to ensure superior strip quality with optimised costs.
The order will be executed at JCIL’s manufacturing unit in Taloja, near Mumbai, leveraging its skilled engineering team and high-quality global components.
