Tata Steel has awarded John Cockerill India a contract worth around Rs 80 crore for the engineering, design, manufacture, and supply of pickling and acid regeneration plants (ARP) at its Tinplate Division in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand.
The agreement also covers the supervision of erection and commissioning of the plants to ensure performance guarantees are met. John Cockerill India will supply all critical components required for the push-pull pickling line and ARP facilities. The project will enhance Tata Steel’s production capabilities by integrating advanced processes that improve efficiency and sustainability in steel treatment. The plants are expected to strengthen the company’s tinplate operations and align with Tata Steel’s focus on technology-driven upgrades in its facilities.
The contract is scheduled for execution by mid-2027, with John Cockerill India overseeing the installation and commissioning to meet operational standards. This partnership reflects Tata Steel’s continued emphasis on modernizing its plants and supporting long-term capacity expansion.
