KEC International bagged an
order worth Rs.33.90 crore from Power Grid Corporation (PGCIL) for projects in
Afganistan and EEPO in Ethiopia.
In Afghanistan, PGCIL has
given the contract worth Rs.20.40 crore for supply and construction of 220 kV
double transmission lines from
These transmission lines are
being constructed to provide electricity to Kabul city. The project is expected
to be completed over a period of 36 months.
Ethiopian Electric Power
Corporation (EEPO) has given the contract worth Rs.13.50 crore for supply
and construction of 400 kV single circuit and 230 kV double circuit transmission
line totaling over 234 km. under the Gilgel Gibe II Power Transmission project.
This transmission line will enable the transfer of hydropower from the Gilgel
Gibe II Hydro Power plant.
The project is partly funded by
the European Investment Bank.
