Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar has announced a significant investment of Rs 1,100 crore for the development and repair of roads across Bengaluru.
The allocation aims to improve the city’s road infrastructure by eliminating potholes and constructing new roads, ensuring smoother and safer travel for residents. Shivakumar reaffirmed the government’s commitment to distributing funds equitably, with Rs 50 crore allocated to each of the 14 key assembly constituencies and Rs 25 crore earmarked for the remaining constituencies. This funding will be used for both repairing existing roads and building new ones, covering all parts of the city.
The move comes amid growing public demand for better infrastructure to ease traffic congestion and enhance commuter safety. The initiative reflects the state government’s focus on urban development and improving quality of life in Karnataka’s capital city.
