The Karnataka government has approved the construction of a peripheral ring road around Bangalore, Karnataka.
The project is being executed by Bangalore Development Authority (BDA), with an investment of Rs. 5,800 crore. The project will be implemented in two phases. Phase-I will be of 65 km and comprises the stretch of Tumkur Road (NH-4) to Hosur Road (NH-7), crossing Bellary Road, Old Madras Road, and Varthur Road. Phase-II of the project will be from Hosur Road to Tumkur Road, a length of 51 km.
The detailed project report will be prepared within a specified time frame and thereafter implementation of the project will commence.
Land acquisition for the road is underway and work will be undertaken with the support of Japan International Cooperation Agency.
