To address chronic traffic congestion along the key Mehdipatnam–PVNR Expressway–Gachibowli corridor, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has announced the construction of multi-level flyovers and grade separators at Rethibowli and Nanalnagar junctions.
The Rs 398 crore project under the Hyderabad City Innovative and Transformative Infrastructure (H-CITI) initiative, aims to establish a signal-free corridor and significantly improve travel speeds. Of the total, Rs 220 crore will be allocated to the construction of flyovers and grade separators, while the remainder will cover land acquisition, shifting of underground utilities including water and sewer pipelines and power cables, consultancy, incidental works, and installation of noise barriers.
To be executed on an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) basis, the project proposals have been invited with a construction period of two years, followed by a two-year defect liability period. The viaduct is being designed for a minimum speed of 40 kmph, with structural components designed up to 80 kmph.
