Kaynes Technology, which is investing Rs 3,300 crore in a semiconductor facility at Sanand, Gujarat, will commission a pilot production line in June 2025, with full-scale operations set to begin by January 2026. At a ground-breaking ceremony was held on 05 March, 2025, the company revealed that the facility will have a capacity to process 60 lakh chips daily.
The unit, developed by its subsidiary Kaynes Semicon will focus on assembly, testing, marking, and packing of semiconductor chips. These chips will cater to a diverse range of applications, including industrial, automotive, electric vehicles, consumer electronics, information technology, telecom, and mobile phones. Kaynes also announced a multi-year, multi-million-dollar partnership with Alpha and Omega Semiconductor (AOS), a global supplier of semiconductor chip products, including Power Mosfets, IGBTs, and IPMs.
Additionally, the company stated that it has signed agreements with various technology and supply chain partners. In an effort to bolster the semiconductor industry’s workforce, Kaynes has entered into strategic cooperation agreements with eight institutions for skill development.
