Kesar Petroproducts has announced the commencement of commercial production at its new fertiliser manufacturing facility in Ratnagiri, Maharashtra. The facility, with an annual capacity of 6,000 tonne, marks a significant diversification move for the company as it steps into the high-end fertiliser segment.
The strategic utilisation of by-products from the company’s pigment operations for fertiliser manufacturing not only enhances operational efficiency but is also expected to significantly bolster the company’s topline. Additionally, the integration of fertiliser production with pigment operations will indirectly expand pigment capacity at the existing facility. It is expected to drive both vertical integration and improved resource optimisation, leveraging existing by-products for incremental value creation.
The company currently manufactures approx. 600 tonne per month of Copper Phthalocyanine Blue Crude, 150 tonne per month of Alpha Blue, 200 tonne per month of Beta Blue, and 50 tonne per month of pigment green. These colourants are essential to a wide range of end-use industries including printing inks, paints and coatings, plastics, paper, ceramics, textiles, glass, food, and cosmetics.
The addition of a fertiliser line further diversifies its product offerings and signals a forward-looking expansion approach. With this development, the company is not only tapping into the growing demand for agro-inputs but is also reaffirming its position as a versatile and innovation-driven manufacturer in the specialty chemicals space.
