The work for a new hospital tower with 441 beds in Kilpauk Medical College and Hospital is near completion. Chief Minister M K Stalin would soon inaugurate the building, Health Minister Ma Subramanian said after inspecting the campus in Chennai.
Funded by Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and constructed at a cost of around 358.87 crore, the tower will have a built-up area of 2.6 lakh sq. ft.
Equipped with thirteen operation theatres, including hybrid ones, and facilities such as MRI and digital X-ray, the building is expected to be fully operational by September, 2024.
