Madhya Pradesh is taking significant steps towards becoming a hub for renewable energy, with Chief Minister Mohan Yadav emphasising the role of private sector participation.
At the inauguration of three newly-built compressed biogas (CBG) plants in Bhopal, Indore, and Satna, established by Reliance Green Energy, CM Yadav highlighted the state's shift towards clean, green energy. These plants will convert organic waste, such as agricultural residue and cattle dung, into renewable biogas, reducing carbon emissions and tackling issues like stubble burning.
The state aims to contribute to India's net-zero carbon emissions goal by 2070. Reliance has invested Rs 700 crore in six plants, which together will produce 45,000 tons of CBG annually. The Bhopal plant, the largest of its kind, will produce 22.5 tonne of biogas daily and create employment for over 250 people.
