Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar on 15 September, 2025 sanctioned an additional Rs 150 crore for the Ahilyanagar–Beed–Parli Vaijnath Broad Gauge Railway Project, raising the state’s total allocation to Rs 2,091 crore.
The 261-km railway line, with an estimated cost of Rs 4,805 crore, is being jointly funded by the Centre and state, each contributing 50 percent. The state’s share is Rs 2,402 crore, of which Rs 2,091 crore has already been disbursed. The inaugural run of the Ahilyanagar–Beed section will be flagged off on September 17, fulfilling a long-pending demand of Beed residents.
Deputy CM Pawar, who also serves as Guardian Minister of Beed, has made infrastructure a top priority, holding multiple review meetings to expedite work on airports, railways, and road networks. He emphasized that the project would transform the district by enhancing connectivity, attracting investment, generating employment, and supporting farmers, students, entrepreneurs, and traders, ultimately reshaping Beed’s economic landscape.
