The Maharashtra government signed nine MoUs with leading companies on 19 September, 2025 securing investments worth Rs 80,962 crore at the Steel Mahakumbh event in Goregaon, Mumbai.
The agreements, signed in the presence of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Union Minister Pralhad Joshi, and Industries Minister Uday Samant, are projected to generate over 40,300 work opportunities across districts including Gadchiroli, Chandrapur, Nagpur, Wardha, Raigad, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, and Satara. Key investments include Rashmi Metallurgical Industries’ Rs 25,000-crore integrated steel plant in Wardha, expected to employ 12,000 people, and Jindal Stainless’s Rs 41,580-crore stainless steel unit in Raigad, set to create 15,500 employment opportunities.
NPSPL Advanced Material (Atha Group) will invest Rs 5,440 crore in a lithium battery material and carbon complex in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, employing 5,000 people. Gadchiroli will host joint ventures by Sumedh Tools and Hariom Pipe Industries worth Rs 5,135 crore, adding 5,500 work opportunities. Other projects include units by Icon Steel, Filtrum Autocomp, G R Krishna Ferro Alloys, and Jaydeep Steelwork India.
