The Maharashtra government has signed memoranda of understanding (MoUs) worth Rs 42,893 crore with leading companies to advance data centre and solar energy projects.
The agreements, expected to generate 28,558 employment opportunities highlight the state’s growing role as India’s emerging hub for data centre infrastructure and solar integration. Eight MoUs and two strategic agreements, including a partnership with the UK to attract foreign investment, were inked. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has assured complete government support for smooth project implementation from inception to completion.
The MoUs include Jupiter International investing Rs 10,900 crore in solar panel manufacturing to create employment for 8,308 people, Rochak Systems setting up a Rs 2,508 crore data centre generating 1,000 work roles, and Rovison Tech Hub establishing a Rs 2,564 crore data centre creating 1,100 employment. Wow Iron & Steel will invest Rs 4,300 crore in the steel industry to generate work opportunities for 1,500 people, while Webmint Digital plans a Rs 4,846 crore data centre with 2,050 jobs.
Atlas Copco will invest Rs 575 crore in industrial equipment, and employ 3,400 persons. LNK Green Energy is set to invest Rs 4,700 crore in green energy with 2,500 jobs, and Prestige Estate Projects will put in Rs 12,500 crore across data centres, logistics, and real estate.
