Chief Minister of Maharashtra Uddhav Thackeray on 7 July 2020 inaugurated four new temporary COVID-19 treatment facilities.
The facilities are situated in Mahalaxmi Racecourse, Dahisar, Mulund, and Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC).
The Mulund facility, built by the City and Industrial Development Corporation (CIDCO), will have 1,700 beds and around 500 beds have been reserved for the Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC).
The 900-bed Dahisar East centre has been developed with help from Mumbai Metro. The facility at Kandarpada, in Dahisar West, has 108 beds. The dedicated Corona hospital is also equipped with ICU facilities.
The Mahalaxmi Race course COVID-19 Care Centre (CCC) has 700 beds. The BKC facility has 112 ICU beds. It is part of Phase-II of makeshift COVID-19 hospital at the Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) area of Mumbai built by the Mumbai Metropolitan Regional Development Authority (MMRDA).
The facilities are also equipped with CCTV cameras, public announcement systems and intercom connections in contactless cabins and waiting areas.
