The Municipal Corporation of Gurugram (MCG) held its general house meeting on 11 August, 2025 at the Haryana Institute of Public Administration, Sector-18, approving a range of civic and infrastructure proposals to drive sustainable urban growth.
Initiatives include citywide expansion of rainwater harvesting systems, installation of name boards for council members, a new streetlight rate contract, land transfer to the health department for an urban primary health centre, and reduced development charges. Plans were also cleared to hold special camps for water connection meters and establish one compressed biogas plant in each of the four municipal zones.
Two Councillors were elected to the MCG’s finance and contract committee, tasked with overseeing critical financial and contractual matters. Mayor Raj Rani Malhotra highlighted the corporation’s commitment to rainwater harvesting, sewage management, water supply, and environmental conservation, urging councillors to promote public participation for a clean, safe, and modern Gurugram.
