SRM University–AP has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the JK Srivastava Group to establish a state-of-the-art Centre of Excellence (CoE) for green hydrogen technologies in Andhra Pradesh.
The centre will focus on research, academic collaboration, and scientific knowledge exchange to support the state’s target of producing 1.5 million tonne per annum of green hydrogen by 2030. The initiative aligns with Andhra Pradesh’s Green Hydrogen Valley project, under which SRM University–AP has been recognised as the state nodal agency for advanced hydrogen research. The Centre of Excellence will work on developing efficient electrolysis catalysts, exploring alternative water sources such as seawater electrolysis, advancing hydrogen storage solutions, and studying hydrogen applications in transport and data centres.
Executive Director (Research) at SRM Group of Institutions D Narayana Rao said, “The University is driving the initial phase of green hydrogen development by establishing the Centre of Excellence for Hydrogen Technologies.” The JK Srivastava Group has committed Rs 35,000 crore towards a green ammonia project in the state.
