Narmada Hydroelectric Development Corporation
Ltd (NHDC), a subsidiary of NHPC and Madhya Pradesh government, has planned
three hydropower projects in Madhya Pradesh.
The company, which has commissioned the1,000 MW
Indira Sagar power project, plans to construct the three projects of 60 MW each
between Bargi (Jabalpur) and the Indira Sagar project.
The Narmada Valley Development Authority has
identified the sites at Hoshangabad, Bouras and Handia, and has plans to invite
private partnerships in these projects. Mandideep-based LNJ Bhilwara group HEG
Ltd has shown interest in the project. The three projects are likely to cost
around Rs.550 crore.
The company has asked to prepare a detailed
project report, which will be ready by December 2006 and is likely to commence
work on these projects by 2007 with completion scheduled by 2010. The MP government and the
Centre are
likely to sign an MoU by end-February 2006 for the proposed projects.
