NTPC Green Energy (NGEL), a subsidiary of NTPC and the flagship entity for its green initiatives, is set to establish renewable energy and battery energy storage system (BESS) projects in Bihar.
In a significant step toward boosting clean energy capacity and supporting decarbonisation efforts, NGEL has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Bihar State Power Generation Company (BSPGCL). The MoU, signed by NGEL CEO Sarit Maheswari and BSPGCL Director Technical Abdesh Kumar Singh, took place in the presence of Bihar’s Minister of Energy, Planning & Development, Bijendra Prasad Yadav, along with other senior state officials.
The agreement marks a strategic collaboration to promote energy transition and sustainability within the state. NGEL plays a central role in executing NTPC’s green energy mission, targeting 60 GW of renewable capacity by FY32. With this initiative in Bihar, NGEL strengthens its commitment to lead in India's clean energy transformation, supporting regional development and national climate goals.
