NTPC has identified land for its 1,600 MW super thermal power plant proposed at Gajamara in Dhenkanal district of Orissa.
The company has to pay Rs 152.54 crore for acquisition of 795.85 acre of private land required for the proposed project. The land is to be acquired in four affected villages - 440.23 acre in Talabarkote, 194.61 acre in Patra Bhag, 99.46 acre in Manipur, and 61.55 acre in Siaria. However, the project requires a total 1,013 acre.
Notification under section 4 (1) of the land acquisition act has already been issued for acquisition of private land for the plant. NTPC has urged the state government to expedite issue of 6 (1) notification.
