NTPC is holding talks with the Jharkhand Government, exploring the
possibility of taking over the management control of Patratu thermal power
station (PTPS) in Ramgarh district of the state.
According to sources, under the new arrangement being planned for the revival
of the PTPS, a 75:25 JV with NTPC holding the majority stake is likely to be
formed.
Earlier, NTPC had mooted the proposal for total takeover of the 840 MW
thermal power station operating at 10-15 per cent capacity. However, only in
mid-2009 it conducted the due diligence.
