NTPC has commenced commercial electricity supply from the final 52 MW phase of its 245 MW solar PV capacity at Plot-3 of Nokh Solar Project in Rajasthan, making the unit fully operational. According to a regulatory filing, this second and last part-capacity came online at 00:00 hours on 22 June, 2025.

The first phase, comprising 193 MW, had earlier begun commercial operations on 09 June, 2025. With this milestone, NTPC has now successfully commissioned the entire 245 MW capacity of Plot-3, which is part of the larger NTPC Nokh Solar PV Project (3x245 MW)—a major renewable energy initiative in the region. Following this development, NTPC's total standalone commercial power capacity has reached 60,318 MW, while its group commercial capacity now stands at 81,420 MW, reinforcing its position as India's largest power utility.

The operationalisation of this project strengthens NTPC's push towards sustainable energy and supports India’s renewable energy goals, contributing to grid decarbonisation while meeting increasing power demand with clean, solar-based generation.
