NTPC's group installed capacity has reached 73,824 MW (73.8 GW). On 05 September, 2023, NTPC completed the trial operation of the first unit of 800 MW super thermal power project in Telangana. With this, the installed capacity of NTPC stands at 57,838 MW.
Meanwhile, NTPC Green Energy (NGEL), a wholly-owned subsidiary of NTPC, has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with V.O Chidambaranar Port Authority (VOCPA) for the development of a green hydrogen hub at VOCPA, Tuticorin in Tamil Nadu.
This hub would produce green hydrogen and its derivatives, such as green ammonia and green methanol, on the land provided by VOCPA for export and domestic usage.
By 2032, NTPC targets to achieve 60,000 MW of renewable energy capacity. NTPC is an integrated power utility firm which caters to the power requirement in the country with a diverse portfolio of thermal, hydro, solar, and wind power plants.
