Ashok Leyland Defence Systems (ALDS) along with Krauss-Maffei Wegmann GmbH &
Co. KG (KMW), Germany, is planning to work jointly to develop defence systems
for India and international markets.
The two companies will cooperate to develop advanced defence systems for the
Indian Defence establishment and other Defence forces worldwide. Initially, they
are expected to work on developing products such as armoured wheeled vehicles,
recovery vehicles, artillery and combat systems and bridge laying systems.
While ALDS will bring in the expertise and experience of designing and
developing defence vehicles, KMW will provide the technology and the technical
assistance for the development of these defence systems.
