Oil India (OIL) and GAIL (India) have signed a 15-year gas sale and purchase agreement (GSPA) to supply up to 9,00,000 standard cubic meters per day (SCMD) of natural gas from OIL’s gas fields in Rajasthan.
The agreement, effective from July 1, 2025, aims to fulfill the natural gas needs of Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam (RRVUNL), the state’s power utility. Signed at GAIL’s corporate office in New Delhi, the pact was executed by Ranjan Goswami, Executive Director (Business Development) at OIL, and Sumit Kishore, Executive Director (Gas Marketing) at GAIL.
This long-term arrangement strengthens the commercial partnership between the two Maharatna CPSEs under the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas. Natural gas will be transported via GAIL’s pipeline network to RRVUNL’s power plants, ensuring stable domestic supply for Rajasthan’s power sector.
