Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) is looking for joint venture partners to build very large ethane carriers (VLECs) to transport feedstock for its petrochemical plant in western India.
The company aims to secure 8,00,000 tonne per year (tpy) of ethane starting May 2028 for ONGC Petro additions (OPaL), which operates a dual-feed cracker. The VLECs will be funded locally and globally, with interested parties required to submit proposals by 27 March, 2025.
The joint venture will oversee ship construction, financing, and ethane transportation.
