Power Distribution Companies (discoms) have spent Rs 550 crore on capital expenditure programme in Odisha.
The programme was aimed at pruning high AT&C (aggregate technical & commercial) losses.
The first phase of Capex, which is expected to be completed by this fiscal end, will see expenditure of Rs 970 crore as per the detailed project report (DPR) prepared for the scheme.

The Capex programme also involved laying of 2,684 km of 33 kV new lines, 5,701 km of 11 kV lines and 7,282 km network of aerial bunched cables. Discoms have installed 173 nos. of 33/11 kV substations. Work is in progress for 21 new substations.
