The Odisha government has earmarked nearly 5,500 acre in and around Bhubaneswar for the development of IT parks, towers, and electronic manufacturing facilities through the public-private partnership (PPP) model.
Despite keen interest from IT and semiconductor companies, land allotment had remained a bottleneck. Identified sites include Mundali (980 acre), Kuaput Hills and Haldipada (1,694 acre), Aranga (1,504 acre), Aragul (874.5 acre), and XIM University Square (441.5 acre). Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja directed IDCO and the Khurda administration to expedite acquisition. Once completed, land may be allotted at special rates to reputed IT, ITeS, and ESDM companies planning large-scale operations. Smaller parcels within Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation limits will be used for IT parks and towers catering to startups and SMEs.
Emphasis was placed on completing built-up facilities at Infovalley, Infocity, and new towers (NBCC, OBCC, OMC, Chandaka). IDCO will implement a GIS-based land management system, while ECoR will be urged to allocate space for IT companies at Bhubaneswar railway station.
