Oswal Energies has been awarded India’s first port-based five MW Green Hydrogen Project at Deendayal Port, Kandla, through its joint venture, Oswal Greenzo Energies with Greenzo Energy India.
The project, under the Government of India’s Sagarmala Initiative, and the contract will involve the design, supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of the plant at the port. This milestone positions Deendayal Port as a pioneer in maritime decarbonisation, marking India’s first green hydrogen plant at a major port. The plant will be executed on an engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) basis and has provisions for future expansion up to 10 MW using common infrastructure. Once operational, the plant is expected to produce 800 tonne of green hydrogen annually, which will support clean energy adoption across port operations and the mobility sector.
This project aligns with India’s National Green Hydrogen Mission, contributing to reducing carbon emissions in the maritime, logistics, and transport sectors, helping to accelerate the country’s clean energy transition.
