Otter Controls, a joint venture with UK-based Otter Controls, has inaugurated its fourth manufacturing facility in the Chakan-Pune region, with an investment of USD 4.5 million in the 96,000 sq. ft. plant.
The new facility, inaugurated by Avnish Malhotra, India Lead for Future Mobility and Head of the British Trade Office in Pune, will increase the company’s production capacity by 75 prercent and create employment for 1,000 people in the industrial hub. The plant supports Otter Controls India’s strategy to strengthen the domestic supply chain under the ‘Make in India’ initiative.
Equipped with a clean room facility ISO 8/Class 100,000, the facility enables entry into electronics manufacturing services (EMS) and surface mount technology (SMT) sectors, catering to automotive and non-automotive applications. It also enhances production of high-precision components like liquid silicone rubber (LSR) moulded parts and wire harnesses, supporting next-generation technologies and potential defence sector applications.
