PFC Consulting (PFCCL), a subsidiary of Power Finance Corporation (PFC), has incorporated two special purpose vehicles (SPVs) for the development of transmission systems in Maharashtra.
NES Dharashiv Transmission has been formed for a network expansion scheme to facilitate the evacuation of renewable energy (RE) power from Dharashiv in Beed district. NES Navi Mumbai Transmission will oversee a network expansion project to ensure a stable power supply for data centre loads in Navi Mumbai.
Maharashtra State Electricity Transmission Company (MSETCL) had issued a letter of intent (LoI) on 17 January, 2025, appointing PFCCL as the bid process coordinator (BPC) for selecting transmission service providers (TSP). The selection will follow a tariff-based competitive bidding (TBCB) process.
The SPVs will be transferred to the successful bidders through international competitive bidding under the Ministry of Power's TBCB guidelines.
