Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate several key railway infrastructure projects in the Waltair division today, remotely from Kurnool.
These projects are aimed at boosting capacity, enhancing safety, and reducing congestion along vital railway corridors in Andhra Pradesh and Odisha. Among the key developments is the fourth railway line between Kottavalasa and Vizianagaram, which will help manage increasing train traffic. Additionally, a new rail flyover between Pendurthi and Kottavalasa will be launched to streamline train movements and minimise delays.
The PM will also inaugurate two newly completed double-line sections: Kottavalasa– Boddavara and Boddavara–Shivalingapuram. These upgraded routes are expected to enhance operational efficiency, support faster train operations, and improve the overall reliability of services. The projects mark a significant step toward modernising regional rail infrastructure and are poised to accelerate socio-economic growth by improving connectivity.
