South Eastern Railway has invited bids for the regirdering of key railway bridges to facilitate the operation of 25-tonne axle-loaded freight trains at speeds of 100 kmph. The project encompasses work on three major bridge locations.
These cover Bridge No. 25 DN between ADTP and TATA stations, consisting of 10 spans of 24.4 mtrs. each, Bridge No. 206 UP (3 spans of 45.7 mtrs.) and 206 DN (2 spans of 12.2 mtrs., four spans of 18.3 mtrs., and one span of 45.7 mtrs.) situated between Mahadeosal and Posoita stations. Also included is Bridge No. 47 UP, comprising two spans of 12.2 mtrs. and two spans of 30.5 mtrs. The estimated cost of the work is Rs 152.23 crore, and the duration for completion is 24 months. The project is a strategic move to enhance freight capacity and improve infrastructure reliability.
Bids must be submitted before the closing date of 24 November, 2025.
