Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during his visit to Banswara, Rajasthan, will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for development projects worth over Rs 1.22 lakh crore, with Rs 1,08,468 crore dedicated specifically to the state.
A key highlight is the Rs 42,000 crore Mahi-Banswara nuclear plant, a 2,800 MW facility expected to significantly boost Rajasthan’s energy self-sufficiency. The PM will also launch renewable energy projects, including a Rs 8,500 crore, 590 MW plant in Bikaner, and high-capacity transmission lines (15.5 GW) across several districts. Additionally, 15 drinking water supply projects across 11 districts, multiple solar energy projects totaling over 3,200 MW, and major irrigation works like the Isarda dam and Dholpur lift scheme will be unveiled.
Infrastructure projects include two new flyovers, a bridge over the Banas river, 119 roads under the Atal Pragati Path scheme, and seven new road projects. The comprehensive development push also includes three new grid substations and a Rs 20,833 crore water resources initiative. The Prime Minister will also inaugurate several completed projects, including solar power plants with a total capacity of 1,400 MW, the 925 MW Nokh Solar Park in Phalodi, and decentralised solar energy installations with a combined capacity of 895 MW, developed under the PM-KUSUM-C scheme at a cost of Rs 3,132 crore.
