Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has approved Rs 97 crore for the construction of a flyover and grade separator at Shastrinagar Chowk in the city. The tender process for the work is expected to start next week.
The residents of Kalyani Nagar, Viman Nagar & Kharadi will be relieved of traffic congestion issues. Earlier in May this year, the PMC obtained a no-objection certificate (NOC) from the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) for the same. As the historical Aga Khan Palace is near the proposed site, this was a key part of the procedure.
In April, an audio-visual presentation was made to the National Monuments Authority in Delhi to obtain the required approval.
