Pavna Industries, a Uttar Pradesh-based auto component manufacturer, has announced a joint venture with Taiwan-based SmartChip Microelectronic Corporation (SMC) to strengthen India’s electric vehicle (EV) technology ecosystem and expand into high-growth global markets.
As part of the agreement, Pavna Industries will hold an 80 percent equity stake, while SMC will retain 20 percent. The collaboration is aimed at leveraging Pavna’s operational, manufacturing, and procurement expertise, along with its deep understanding of the Indian automotive market, to manage the JV’s day-to-day operations. SMC, known for its advanced semiconductor and chip design solutions, is expected to provide technological inputs and innovation support to accelerate EV-related product development.
The JV is designed to enhance capabilities in electronics integration, smart mobility solutions, and component efficiency. By combining Pavna’s established manufacturing base with SMC’s technological edge, the partnership seeks to cater not only to India’s fast-growing EV market but also to global opportunities in automotive electronics.
