Powergrid Kurawar Transmission (PKTL), a subsidiary of Power Grid Corporation of India (PGCIL), has recently received a transmission licence for an interstate transmission project under the regulated tariff mechanism (RTM).
Approved by the Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (CERC) on October 26, 2025, the project, titled "Network expansion at 765/400/220kV Kurawar substation for drawal of power of MPPTCL," carries an estimated cost of Rs 56.06 crore. The scheme aims to augment a transmission asset under PKTL's independent TBCB project, including 13 line bays at the Kurawar substation, due for completion by October 2026.
The RTM project is designed to facilitate the drawal of power for Madhya Pradesh Power Transmission Company (MPPTCL), enhancing the region's transmission capacity with lines at 220kV and 132kV levels. PKTL will seek tariff determination from CERC upon project completion.
