Prime Focus has announced a Rs 3,000 crore investment to develop a 200-acre 'film city' in Mumbai, aiming to establish a world-class production and entertainment ecosystem.
This project was unveiled on the sidelines of the WAVES 2025 event and is expected to generate employment for up to 2,500 people, while attracting global content creators and tourists. A memorandum of understanding has been signed with the Maharashtra government to facilitate the initiative. Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis welcomed the move, positioning it as aligned with the state's broader developmental agenda.
The facility is envisioned as a self-contained entertainment city and will feature cutting-edge production studios equipped with robust digital infrastructure to support high-quality content creation. It will also host live entertainment venues, theme parks, interactive experience centres, shopping areas, restaurants, hotels, and residential units, effectively blending creative industry requirements with lifestyle and leisure offerings.
