The much-awaited Multi-Modal Logistics Park (MMLP) near Pune is advancing steadily, with pre-feasibility studies completed and bidding now in progress.
With an investment of Rs 1,684.77 crore, the MMLP aims to revolutionise Pune’s freight ecosystem by integrating road, rail, and air transportation. Located near Talegaon, the park will span 334.96 acres and benefit from strategic connectivity to the Pune-Mumbai Expressway, NH-548D (Hyderabad route), and key railway lines linking Mumbai and Bengaluru. It will also lie close to the upcoming Pune International Airport and industrial hubs in Chakan and Talegaon MIDC.
The project is a public-private partnership (PPP) involving National Highways Logistics Management (NHLML), Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC), and Rail Vikas Nigam (RVNL). The special purpose vehicle (SPV) structure includes equity contributions from NHLML (57.27 percent), RVNL (26 percent), and MIDC (16.73 percent).
Once operational, the MMLP will offer services such as freight aggregation, warehousing, cargo processing, customs clearance, and more. It is expected to reduce logistics costs, boost regional connectivity, and promote sustainable transport by lowering carbon emissions.
