On 17 October, 2025, REC Power Development and Consultancy (RECPDCL), a wholly owned subsidiary of REC, handed over two special purpose vehicles (SPVs) of inter-state transmission system (ISTS) projects to successful bidders under the tariff-based competitive bidding (TBCB) route.
SR WR Power Transmission was awarded to Power Grid Corporation of India (POWERGRID), which will develop a 109 km, 765 kV doublecircuit line between Parli New (Maharashtra) and Bidar (Karnataka) within 24 months. Ananthapuram II Power Transmission went to Shivalaya Construction, responsible for setting up the 765/400 kV CN’Halli station in Karnataka, a 181 km double-circuit line, and station augmentation in Andhra Pradesh within 30 months.
Both projects will follow a build, own, operate and transfer (BOOT) model. Saurabh Rastogi, CEO of RECPDCL, said, “These handovers mark a significant step forward in strengthening India’s transmission infrastructure.”
