RITES, a leading transport infrastructure consultancy firm, has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Central Mine Planning & Design Institute (CMPDI), a subsidiary of Coal India (CIL), to build a strategic partnership focused on mining and renewable energy.
The collaboration aims to identify, explore, and jointly pursue consultancy assignments and projects in India and abroad, particularly in the areas of mining, power, renewable energy, and associated infrastructure. The MoU was signed in Ranchi and brings together RITES’ global expertise in market intelligence, logistics, and infrastructure planning with CMPDI’s specialisation in mine planning and project execution.
Together, the two entities will conduct feasibility studies, detailed assessments, and capacity-building programmes. They will also co-develop and submit proposals for mining and evacuation projects in targeted geographies. RITES will assist CMPDI in securing domestic and international assignments by leveraging its vast logistics and evacuation infrastructure knowledge.
The agreement is expected to unlock new business avenues for both organisations and contribute to India's sustainable development goals, especially in the context of transitioning toward renewable and efficient energy solutions.
