Renewable energy firm Raasi Green Earth is set to establish a five GW battery park in Ramanthpuram near Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu, according to Chairman and MD C Narasimhan.
The company will collaborate with Chinese and local partners for technology and investment. The facility will manufacture complete battery packs, including Energy Management Systems, Power Conversion Systems, cables, and more. Raasi has also identified a 1,000-acre site in the state to set up a battery-grade lithium purification plant. Additionally, it has leased two rare earth mineral mines in Zimbabwe, strengthening its supply chain for battery components.
The Chairman shared the news ahead of the Battery Show at the Renewable Energy Expo in Delhi, scheduled for later this month. The three-day event, held in collaboration with the Department of Science & Technology and the Ministry of Heavy Industries, will host 350+ exhibitors from countries including Japan, US, Korea, Taiwan, and China, and is expected to draw over 20,000 visitors.
