Decarbonisation solutions company ReNew Energy Global has announced a partnership with Google to develop a 150 MW solar project in Rajasthan.
Under this collaboration, Google will procure the project's energy attributes, including carbon credits, from ReNew Energy. This long-term procurement arrangement is crucial for the bankability of the project and will help Google meet its sustainability goals by addressing emissions across its value chain. The solar project, set to be commissioned in 2026, is expected to generate 4,25,000 MWh of clean electricity annually—equivalent to powering over 3,60,000 Indian households.
ReNew Energy’s commercial and industrial portfolio now expands to 2.7 GW, solidifying its position as one of India's leading providers of corporate clean energy and carbon reduction solutions. "This partnership reinforces our commitment to delivering sustainable energy solutions and driving the global transition to a low-carbon economy," said the company in a statement.
