Reliance Green Hydrogen, L&T Energy, and Waaree Clean Energy are among nine companies awarded green hydrogen production projects under the second tranche of India’s Strategic Interventions for Green Hydrogen Transition (SIGHT) scheme. Investments for these projects are expected to reach Rs 80,000 crore.

The Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) issued letters of award to the nine selected firms, which include Oriana Power, Matrix Gas and Renewables, GH2 Solar, Green Infra Renewable Energy Farms, and Suryadeep KA1 Project. These companies secured contracts to establish green hydrogen facilities with varying annual capacities.

L&T Energy, Waaree Clean Energy, AM Green Ammonia, and Green Infra Renewable Energy Farms were awarded the highest capacity of 90,000 tonne per year, while Reliance Green Hydrogen secured 49,000 tonne annually. SECI allocated an incentive of Rs 513 crore to AM Green Ammonia, Rs 510.3 crore to Waaree, and Rs 437.4 crore to Green Infra.

The government has set aside Rs 2,238.59 crore in financial incentives for this tranche. Under the scheme, the maximum capacity a single bidder can be allotted is 90,000 tonne annually. With an estimated investment of Rs 18,000-20,000 crore per 1,00,000 tonne of capacity, the total investment in these projects is projected to be around Rs 80,000 crore.
