Reliance Retail is strengthening its foothold in the luxury segment with plans to introduce Saks Fifth Avenue to the Indian market through a franchise agreement. The move aligns with Reliance's strategy to address the super-luxury market in India.
Additionally, Reliance's Premium Brands business has formed a joint venture (JV) with Mothercare to acquire the Mothercare brand and intellectual property for the Indian subcontinent. This complements its earlier partnerships, such as bringing Tiffany & Co. and launching Sandro luxury fashion and London-based EL&N Cafes in India.
Reliance Retail is also advancing in the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) sector, aiming to establish a strong market presence. Its consumer brands, including Campa and Independence, have shown significant growth, and is projected to surpass Rs 1,000 crore turnover in FY25. This expansion across luxury and FMCG sectors underlines Reliance Retail’s commitment to diversifying its portfolio and catering to evolving consumer preferences.
Known as a premier American luxury department store chain since 1924, Saks Fifth Avenue features curated fashion collections and personalised customer service, operating 41 stores across North America.
