Renefuels Energy Solutions has officially signed a tripartite agreement with GAIL and Indraprastha Gas (IGL) under the Compressed Biogas - City Gas Distribution (CBG-CGD) Synchronisation Scheme. The agreement, executed at GAIL’s Lucknow office, marks a crucial step toward integrating compressed biogas into India’s city gas networks, promoting clean and sustainable energy distribution.
As part of the agreement, Renefuels Energy will produce three tonne per day (TPD) of compressed biogas (CBG), supported by GAIL in maintaining an efficient supply chain. IGL will take charge of transporting and integrating this biogas into its City Gas Distribution (CGD) system.
The CBG plant, currently under development in Vill Bhopa, Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh, will have the capacity to generate 8,000 cubic mtrs. of biogas daily, which will be purified into three TPD of CBG. The partnership is a major boost for India’s biogas sector, promising a cleaner, decentralised, and efficient energy future.
CEID Consultants and Engineering is the EPC partner for the project, responsible for its design, procurement, and construction to ensure operational excellence and adherence to safety and environmental standards. The agreement signing was witnessed by several dignitaries, including Anup Maheshwari from CEID Consultants, Mr. Deputy General Manager of GAIL, A K Verma, along with IGL executives and directors from Renefuels Energy. Their collective presence emphasised the significance of this collaboration in advancing India’s green energy roadmap.
