In response to the Polavaram project’s displacement, Eluru district administration, alongside ASR and Polavaram Project Authorities, has ramped up Rehabilitation and Resettlement (R&R) efforts across the Godavari districts.
Eluru Collector K Vetri Selvi announced the identification of 2,799 acres of land for resettlement. Currently, 7,812 acres are needed for land allocation, with 1,734 acres under acquisition. In ASR district, resettlement in Chinturu, Kunavaram, and VR Puram mandals is nearing completion.
Additionally, Rs 71.06 crore will be disbursed to 781 displaced families, and Rs 828 crore will fund the construction of 10,701 houses and land acquisition. Special teams have been set up to resolve grievances and expedite the process.
