The Telangana state government has issued administrative sanctions amounting to Rs 1,733 crore for eight water supply and nine underground drainage projects across various urban local bodies (ULBs) under the Urban Infrastructure Development Fund (UIDF).
The funds are structured into three packages each for water supply and drainage works. Under Package 1, Rs 57.12 crore has been allocated for water supply improvement in Kagaznagar and Bhainsa municipalities. Major allocations include Rs 551.54 crore for the Greater Warangal water supply scheme and Rs 200 crore for Khammam. Additionally, underground drainage projects will be taken up in Mahabubnagar (Rs 603 crore), Siddipet (Rs 141.34 crore), and Karimnagar (Rs 180 crore).
The total funding of Rs 1,675.88 crore will be supported through Rs 1,230.93 crore from the National Housing Bank and the remainder by the state government. This initiative aims to improve urban infrastructure, ensure sustainable water management, and enhance sanitation systems in Telangana’s growing urban centres.
