The Sarai Kale Khan Namo Bharat station, a key junction for Delhi’s transport network, is ready for operations. The station will serve as the convergence point for three Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) corridors, including the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut route.
Trial runs have been completed, and the state government will soon decide on the public opening. “The final touches are being given to the station,” said an official from the National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC). The Namo Bharat station has been designed for seamless integration with multiple public transport modes, including the Delhi Metro Pink Line, Hazrat Nizamuddin Railway Station, Veer Haqeeqat Rai ISBT, and city bus services. ||
A skywalk with travellators connects the Namo Bharat station to the railway station and metro station, ensuring safe and easy transfers. The station features a 5.5-metre-wide car/taxi drop-off lane, a 7.5-mtrs.-wide city bus drop-off lane, parking for 275 cars and 900 two-wheelers, and dedicated pick-up zones. With six platforms, four tracks, 14 lifts, 18 escalators, and universal accessibility features, the 215-mtrs.-long and 50-metre-wide station aims to resolve traffic chaos and improve commuter safety and convenience.
