Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure
Corporation Ltd (APIIC) has shortlisted seven out of the ten companies that
submitted EoIs for the Gangavaram minor port project in Andhra Pradesh. APIIC is
the nodal agency for the port project.
According to reports, the shortlisted bidders would soon
be asked to submit detailed proposals by way of requests for proposal.
The ten companies that had responded to APIIC's EoI
invitation included Adani Exports, HAM Dredging and Marine Contractors, P&O
Ports, Essar Investments in association with Group of Duro Felguara, a
consortium of Dubai Ports, West Port Holdings of Malaysia and Jurong Pte Ltd of
Singapore, the Lanco Group and a consortium of BMT Asia Pacific Pte of
Singapore and Port of Brisbane Corporation, Australia.
Work on the project is expected to be launched by
April 2003 and completed by up by March 2005.
